Great to have you back to continue the series we started on this greatness journey. We believe the last two articles of this series — ‘Starting Early’ and ‘Taking Responsibility’, where we highlighted that Labour and Discipline are key responsibility steps to any individual’s greatness — have provided you the needed momentum, with which Great Achievers launched into the sky. Should the last two(2) articles have not, this third(3) piece will create in you the needed mindset to generate your greatness drive.
Please fasten your seatbeat and enjoy the air flight.
Are you aware that, before an Aeroplane can take-off, there is an intense ground work (LABOUR/Hardwork) that needs to be done by its Jet Engine. And for it to stay air borne, this same intense work is not done away with; the work must continue else the aircraft will head for the hill. Therefore it is an aircraft’s ‘Discipline’ to keep at ‘its purposeth hard work’ that helps it to stay afloat in air. Moreover, no aircraft engages to take-off without having established it has the required ‘discipline’ to stay air borne, regardless of the intensity of its ground work before take-off.
Have you ever seen an aircraft being towed in the air! It is therefore vital an Aircraft reinforces its Labour with Discipline, to avoid an instant nose-dive once it attains its soaring height. This same ‘established responsibility phenomenon’ is what every individual needs for take-off to greatness, and to soar perpetually in it.
The Scripture says in Proverbs 14:23 KJV:
“In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury”.
And a Yoruba Adage says: Labour doesn’t kill; it’s penury that kills (Interpreted)
Henceforth, set out today on a purposeth labour in your field of study or your dream vocation. Stop talking and fantasizing about doing, without doing. Commitment to hardwork does not kill; rather it yields profitable result. The scripture testifies to this in Proverbs 22:29 KJV:
“Seest thou a man diligent(hardwork with persistence) in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men”
Please note that Discipline — choosing the profitable, the commanded, OVER the comfortable, the convenient, the pleasurable — is what turns your Hardwork into Dilligence that annouces you before Kings, Nobles and to the World.
Let’s conclude this session with the words of Apostle Paul in 1Corinthians 10:23, concerning Discipline:
“All things are lawful(PERMISSIBLE) for me, but all things are not expedient(PROFITABLE): all things are lawful for me, but all things edify(BLESSES) not”.
Therefore, as Apostle Paul rightly expressed further, always have the future in mind in all your works, labour and actions. Choose always that which is profitable for the future over that which temporarily satisfies the present because the ‘Desire for the now/present’ is enemy to ‘Plan for the future’!
Let’s wrap it up here while we come your way again with the concluding ‘legend’ on the Map leading to Greatness and Kingdom exploit.
Please remember to Get Started with what Responsibility demands. “And till the coming of the Lord, continually seek Him while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near”. (Isaiah 55:6).
