It is no longer news how the events of the year 2020 has unveiled the ‘unnoticed’ grandeur Technology plays in our present world. Some will say, living in this current age without the technological tools at our disposal is worse than ‘a gladiator living in the medieval days without sword, shield, bow and arrow’. Although it might be difficult to debate this, however technological advancement has come to stay. The saying goes:
“if you can’t beat them, join them!”
“I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty (TECHNOLOGICAL) inventions”. Proverbs 8:12 KJV [Emphasis mine].
Before we continue further in this exposition, It will be good to establish that, the wisdom and knowledge used in technological advancement was and is given by God. Proverbs 2:6 KJV makes it clear that “..the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
The scripture further says in James 1:17 KJV: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning”. There is no doubt Technology in itself is a good gift; it is what individual does with the created technological tool that makes it either good or evil.
Having established this foundation, our purpose in this session is to push and charge you not to just be a technology consumer but a creator/producer of technological tools, now that you know the giver of the wisdom you need.
James 1:5 KJV says: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him”.
Therefore don’t fail to ask first for wisdom before embarking on your ‘Technological expedition’, to save you from endless frustration.
Moreover your labour doesn’t stop at just asking for this, you must pay your due diligence. The Mobile Apps, Drones, Robots, Smart Devices you see were not built by mere wishes and talks. They were created through hardwork, research, study, and continuous learning with perseverance to getting it right. What Wisdom does for you is to help you get and apply the right knowledge for that expedition.
All around you, there are so many items or devices that can be improved on or make better using technology. Intentionally look around for problems or human discomforts, and provide technological solutions to these. Be a co-Creator with God. Provide solution to human problems: God delights in this (Read Exodus 35:30-35). Create something that will be beneficial to humanity, to the glory of God. And once you set your heart to doing this, with God backing you, it shall be done (Read Psalm 1:1-3).
So now get started!
Till we come your way again and “till the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, continually seek Him while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near”. (Isaiah 55:6).
