It’s great to have you for the concluding part of this insightful session. Let’s refresh ourselves with what it takes to build the mind of an inventor from our last session. Here are some nuggets from the exposition:
* It takes seeing what others are not seeing i.e. the possibility sight, for you to burst into the realm of an Inventor.
* An Inventor resonates in the same frequency of faith talked about in Luke1:37: “For with God nothing shall be impossible”.
Therefore the question we sought to answer from our last sesssion is: how can you develop the mind of an Inventor?
Before we attempt to ‘lay to rest’ the above question, please know that having the mindset of an inventor is not in day dreams, but in purposeful labour.
Therefore engage your mind in constructive and productive thinking — thinking inside and outside the ‘3-dimensions’ of the Obvious.
Most atimes, the simple secret to thinking through for a discovery is in identifying problem: It can be the current human problems/challenges. It can be what is causing discomfort to human daily existence etc. And once a problem is identified, discovery of solution will come through.
At the onset of most discovery, the invention might look ‘bulky’ in appearance, ‘cumbersome’ in its application, perhaps ‘unrealistic’ in design; please don’t discard it. You only need to refine it through wisdom: the right wisdom!
For instance, the First Memory Cards/Hard drives created were huge in size, before they were gradually scaled down to what we have them today. Hence get right wisdom!
If you remember from one of the last Sessions(TECHNOLOGY IS IN YOUR HANDS: MAKE IT COUNT!), we emphasized Wisdom is key in coming by Discovery; and God is the giver of Wisdom for Inventions.(Read about King Uzziah, 2 Chronicles 26:1-15 and Exodus 35:30-35).
Do you know an Inventor’s discovery is akin to rhema gleaned from the word of God. While others are reading and seeing the words as story and as letters, an inventor sees it as wondrous and witty instructions. No wonder David prayed in Psalm 119:18 KJV: “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law”. And he was skilled at building and using Instruments of Music and War.
Therefore let the Word of God be your help and guide in discovery. Though this might seems ‘foolish’ to majority, but it is the most reliable and dependable means for great discovery.
“For God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and the weak things of this world to confound those things that are mighty” 1 Corinthians 1:27.
From the example of Wright Brothers we referenced in the first part of this Session, do you know that this brothers gleaned the Vision of their discovery (First Aircraft ever invented) from the Scripture that says:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they SHALL MOUNT UP WITH WINGS AS EAGLES….” Isaiah 40:31 KJV.
This rhema was what stirred their heart to engage in thorough & rigorous study of how an eagle glide and soar….One knowledge led to another, and Wisdom helped the Brothers put the knowledge pieces together.
Today humanity benefits and enjoy the speed and comfort of intercontinental travels, because the Wright brothers ran with the rhema they gleaned from the Bible; they believed what others thought was impossible is possible.
In conclusion Friends, the simple approach towards building the mind of an Inventor is simply by making the prayer of David [in Psalm 119:18] your regular pray point, and persistently engage your mind in constructive and productive thinking towards solving problems/challenges.
Till we come your way again and “till the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, continually seek Him while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near”. (Isaiah 55:6).[Lord please, Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law] Psalm 119:18.
