WORD FOR THE WEEK.
1.WHEN ATHALIAH the mother of [King] Ahaziah [of Judah] saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal descendants.
2. But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram, [half] sister of Ahaziah, stole Joash son of Ahaziah from among the king’s sons, who were to be slain, even him and his nurse, and hid them from Athaliah in an inner storeroom for beds; so he was not slain.
3. Joash was with his nurse hidden in the house of the Lord for six years. And Athaliah reigned over the land.
4. In the seventh year Jehoiada [the priest, Jehosheba’s husband] sent for the captains over hundreds of the Carites and of the guards or runners and brought them to him to the house of the Lord and made a covenant with them and took an oath from them in the house of the Lord and showed them the king’s [hidden] son.
Sometimes God deliberately hides us from the public and good thing of life that our mates and contemporaries might be enjoying for years because of a perceived danger to our destiny. He might hide us in shame, His service, or even His House or some certain life conditions beyond our control for the purpose of preserving our life, purpose, posterity, ministry and destiny till we are reasonably matured enough to sit on the throne he has prepared for us.
When hidden, our life looks stranded, and we might be far from having access to all the good and glittering things of life, however, He’s only hidding us that we might enjoy those things to the fullest at the right time.
But unfortunately, many times we protest for our freedom and liberty, because we see our being hidden as a disadvantage, and a punishment, all because we are shortsighted and are not aware of the destructive rage over our life.
Our case is like the Hen who tries to shied her chicks from being killed by the Eagle, but the chicks protests and cries for freedom not knowing it would cost his life. Many young people have taken off like a tornado away from their hidden places, some ran off to marriage, overseas, and ministries, only to be destroyed by the callous Athaliah’s of this world.
It’s dangerous to demand for your throne, when priest Jehoiada is not around, because we can never ascend the throne of Dominion without our Jehoiada. Jehoiadas are people who use thier influence, positions, and office to introduce us to our destiny helpers, and they follow up the process until we are successfully enthroned.( 2 Kings 11:4-17).
Are you currently hidden by God ? Does it looks as if you are the odd fellow amidst your peers or siblings ? Are all your mates ahead of you maritally, academically, financially or even ministerially and you seems to be behind despite all your efforts ? If yes, then cheer up, because you will only be hidden for six years. God will introduce you to your liberation, success, victory, and glory in the seventh year which is the year patience would have done her perfect work on you, yes, he would reveal you, just as Jehoiada showed Joash to the captains, the Lord would lift and show you to the world as his trophy.
BEING HIDDEN IS NOT PUNISHMENT, ITS PRESERVATION……
God bless you..
