While listening to a radio program, the story of a young man was discussed. This man, despite his poor financial condition, saw a missing N250,000 in Lagos and went out of his way to locate the owner and returned the money intact. The honesty and integrity he displayed was rewarded with a cash price of N25,000 and other gift items. He was asked why he returned it, and he replied: ”The money is not mine, so I have to return it to the owner”
Then his thought came to my mind. “If this man had decided to take possession of this money, and go to church the next day to share the testimony of how the miraculous God was faithful and good in answering his prayer and fasting for financial open heavens”. I am sure we would have celebrated with him, and some will even become envious of how God has been partial in blessing him in such miraculous way without attending to their own needs, leaving them more depressed.
I think as Christians, we need to start paying more attention to the “HOW” of testimonies than the noise around it, else we would subtly be encouraging greed and breeding Christians who don’t understand the nature of God and miracles.
Please share your experience and thought on this.

This thought you shared is not uncommon in today’s Christiandom. It’s just similar to the case of how some ‘Politicians’ in the guise of ‘Christians’ will come to share testimonies of how God helped them win election that was won through rigging and bribery. And you will even see some elects in the church ascribing the victory to their prayers to God….
Even when you try to take ignorance as the excuse for their errors, Mammoth is the god most of these people serve: Where there is high possibility of money disbursement, there their allegiance lies…. as a result they are apt to discard knowledge.
Here is my take on the matter: Be not deceived, a house divided against itself can not stand. So is every kingdom. God does not bless ANYMAN by using the medium of sin. What God commands man not to do is an evidence of what He doesn’t/won’t do.
We should just keep praying for every Christian out there for a new or renewed heart for God. And for their eyes of knowledge and understanding to be opened
