The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. Ex.33:14-15
There are different kinds of people with different passions and pursuits. Some are passionate about their jobs and careers. For some it is houses and automobiles. Some are passionate about entertainment and enjoyment. What is your passion today? Of all possessions to be passionate about, divine presence is the supreme ultimate!
Divine presence is the breeding ground for the miraculous; it is being in active partnership with God which gives an heaven on earth experience to the Carrier. Divine presence equals God putting his almightiness and all that makes Him “God” behind a man. The Lord’s presence is everything a man needs to live an enviable life.
Two major manifestations of divine presence are Corporate and Personalized Presence. The Israelites corporately enjoyed divine presence while Moses uniquely enjoyed a closed-up presence of God.
CARRIERS OF DIVINE PRESENCE
Man is consciously designed to be a carrier of divine presence (The scripture is filled with men who understood and maximized the importance of divine presence.
David: (Ps 23, Ps 51; Ps 42:1-2): This was a man in the Bible who was passionate about the presence of God all the days of his life. All He wanted was to be in God’s presence. God took him from the level of an ordinary shepherd boy to a great king. Once, he lost the divine presence and Ps 51 shows his heartfelt plead for restoration. God’s presence was his guarantee for victory and success.
Moses (Exodus 33:15; 34:9) – Moses was a man who understood the core importance of divine presence in His Ministry’s success. He was not ready to lead unless God’s presence went with them. God went with them in a pillar of fire by night and pillar of cloud by day. God displayed enviable jealousy over him before the Israelites (Ex 33:10).
Peter and Paul: When you are filled with the presence of God, you start carrying His presence wherever you go. God will transform you from a presence seeker to a presence carrier. This is what happened to Peter. (Acts 5:15,16). You too can carry the presence of God in that fashion. God is a respecter of no man. Peter and Paul typifies the new testament carriers of God’s awesome presence.
DIVINE PRESENCE BRINGS UNTOLD BLESSINGS
There is a beauty far more excellent than physical beauty. This is the beauty of the presence of God in a man’s life. If God is with any man, several blessings result. Some of these are:
- Attracts divine favors (Makes you the ‘Preferred’) – 1 Sam. 16: 17-18
- Guaranteed courage in the face of fear. Exod. 3: 11-12; Jos. 1:5-9, Judges 6: 12-16; Isa. 43:2
- His presence (His anointing) breaks yokes. Acts 5:15-16; 10:38.
- His presence delivers from the fiery furnace. Dan. 3: 25
- Assurance of divine security and protection. Ps. 23:4
- Prosperity, favors and promotion. Gen. 39: 2-5; Ps. 5:12; Prov.3:33; Ps.75:6-7
- Mercy, favor, promotion and prosperity. Gen. 39: 20-23; Lk. 1:30
DIVINE ABSENCE SPELLS DOOM
If God is for us, who can be against us? Rom. 8:31. However, if God is against us or merely leaves us alone, then, we are in serious trouble. Sin will separate us from God. Separation will bring powerlessness and defeats in the hands of the enemy. A Christian must do all he can to retain divine presence, you can ask Saul and Samson on what it is like to be an ex-carrier of divine presence. Jos. 7:10-12; 1 Sam. 4:3-11, Judges 16: 20-21.
Holy living, a panting heart for God and an atmosphere of Praise (Ps 22:3) provoke Divine Presence, but sin will rob a believer in Christ of the presence of God. Therefore, abstain from all appearances of evil – Gen. 39: 7-12; 1 Thess. 5:22.
May you be an all-time carrier of God’s divine presence! Amen.
