A BELIEVER OR A FAITHFUL STEWARD?

Looking into the modern day Pentecostals, one can classify their congregations as Members & Workers; and they are both called Christians or Believers. i.e. those that believe in and live as the begotten Son of God.

A Christian’s earthly pilgrimage can be summarized as a journey of love, as exemplied by Jesus Christ. Moreover love is best expressed in giving and in service. Therefore anything less of these is questionable. So if we claim we are son of the Father, we must love as the Son taught us to love — in giving and in service — that we might receive a goodly heritage.
Hebrews 6:10 KJV
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister”.

God blesses who He chooses to bless, but He rewards diligent Servant. He does not choose who to reward, rather obliged Himself to reward Stewards or Labourers. Jesus Christ told a parable unto this resolve in Matthew 20:1-7 KJV:
“For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. [2] And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. [3] And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, [4] And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. [5] Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. [6] And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? [7] They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive”.

From this parable we see that onlookers and believers with only church membership certificate does not bring about the desired turn-around or change of story; It is Stewardship that changes believers’ story. God does not pay Members(On-Lookers, Bench-warmers), He pays faithful Workers, Stewards or Labourers!
Heb 11:6(emphasis mine): “….God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek (SERVE) Him”.
Job 36:11 KJV
“If they OBEY and SERVE him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures”.

Beloved in which subset will your Creator find you: A MEMBER or a LABOURER?

Finally, to all Labourers and Co-labourers, hear what the Lord says:
Revelation 2:2-5 KJV
“I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: [3] And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. [4] Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. [5] Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent”.
Revelation 3:15-22 KJV
“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. [16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. [17] Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: [18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. [22] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches”.

  1. Lord, teach me to be a faithful Steward of all your resources at my disposal, so at the end of my life I can hear you say “Welcome thou good and faithful Servant”
